Overview
Latest Revenue Growth measures the percentage change in a company’s revenue from the prior annual reporting period to the latest annual reporting period.
This metric provides a straightforward measure of the company’s most recent revenue growth. Positive growth indicates that revenue increased from the prior period, while negative growth indicates that revenue declined.
Formula
![]()
For example, if a company reported revenue of $3.68 billion in the latest period and $2.75 billion in the prior period, StockZuse calculates the percentage increase between those two periods.
How StockZuse Uses the Metric
StockZuse uses Latest Revenue Growth as a Business Quality metric within the ZuseScore.
The metric focuses on the company’s most recent annual revenue performance. This provides a current measure of whether the company’s business is expanding, relatively stable, or contracting based on reported revenue.
Because a single year may not represent a company’s longer-term growth pattern, StockZuse also evaluates 3-Year Revenue CAGR separately.
ZuseScore Point System
Latest Revenue Growth contributes a maximum of 8 points to the ZuseScore.
| Latest Revenue Growth | Points |
|---|---|
| 10% or more | 8 / 8 |
| 7% to less than 10% | 7 / 8 |
| 4% to less than 7% | 6 / 8 |
| 1% to less than 4% | 4 / 8 |
| 0% to less than 1% | 2 / 8 |
| Below 0% | 0 / 8 |
If sufficient annual revenue history is unavailable, the metric is not scored.
Interpretation
Higher positive revenue growth indicates that the company generated substantially more revenue in its latest annual period than in the preceding period.
Slower positive growth indicates that revenue is still increasing, but at a more modest rate. Negative revenue growth indicates that the company’s latest annual revenue declined from the prior period.
Latest Revenue Growth should be considered together with the other ZuseScore metrics rather than interpreted in isolation.
Limitations
Latest Revenue Growth measures only the change between the two most recent annual revenue periods. A single year can be affected by acquisitions, divestitures, unusual business conditions, currency movements, changes in demand, or other temporary factors.
Revenue growth also does not by itself indicate profitability, cash generation, capital efficiency, or financial strength.
For this reason, StockZuse evaluates revenue growth alongside longer-term growth and other financial metrics within the ZuseScore.
Data Used
StockZuse uses the company’s reported annual revenue for:
Latest Revenue — the most recent annual revenue period available.
Prior Revenue — the immediately preceding annual revenue period available.
These are the same underlying values displayed in the Values Used section of Metric Detail.
